Subject... modification of product suite and products broadcast on
NOAA Weather Radio... effective December 15 2014

Beginning December 15, 2014, the National Weather Service in
Portland Oregon will implement a new product configuration for all
NOAA Weather Radio product suites. This change will affect all
broadcasts originated by the NWS Portland office. The most
significant change will be a reduction in the number of forecast
periods disseminated with each zone forecast product /zfp/ and each
coastal waters forecast /cwf/. The first four periods only will be
broadcast. Additionally, the offshore waters forecast /owf/ produced
by NOAA ocean prediction center will be broadcast during a limited
period each year and only for the immediate waters adjoining the NWS
Portland area of responsibility. The period will be from June 1
through November 30.

Primary users of NOAA Weather Radio expressed a desire to shorten
the length of each broadcast cycle and provided some of these
suggestions. These changes are expected to reduce each cycles time
by about thirty percent. Full text versions of these forecasts will
continue to be made available via our web Page at:
weather.Gov/Portland.
