Short term...today through Thursday night...clouds will increase 
today as a trough of low pressure moves inland tonight. Most of the 
energy with this system will move south and east of the area...but 
there is a slight chance of precipitation for Thursday along the far 
south and east portion of the forecast area. The main effect with 
this system will be breezy to locally windy conditions this 
afternoon and tomorrow afternoon as well as cooler temperatures. 
Temperatures on Thursday afternoon are expected to be in the middle 60s 
to middle 70s in the lower elevations and in the lower to middle 60s for 
the mountains. Dmh 


Long term...Friday through Tuesday...west to northwest flow aloft 
will generally provide dry and seasonable conditions to the forecast 
area through Saturday. An upper level trough begins to approach the 
area Friday producing an increasing chance of rain mainly along the 
east slopes of the Washington Cascades. The upper trough slowly 
makes its way over the forecast area Monday spreading a chance 
of rain throughout much of the County Warning Area. Aforementioned trough lingers 
over the area through the remainder of the forecast period. 
However...relatively strong zonal flow should keep the basin 
generally dry. Both the GFS and European model (ecmwf) hint at an abnormally cold 
trough moving over the area by weeks end. Earle
